Hello! Sorry this blog has been pretty quiet lately, never fear lots of things are happening!
I just got some pictures from Swallow Gallery, in NYC. The store looks so beautiful doesn’t it? I want to buy everything in there! If you're in New York please stop by and have a look at my drawings, I've already sold four! (Thanks to Margaux Lange for the pictures!)

in case you were wondering how i got the name for my website, Etsy shop, and this journal: it is from a poem that i read years and years ago, and i had forgotten all the rest of the poem exept that one part, (i had even fogotten it was about a bird!), but recenly someone was kind enough to find this poem for me again.
The Windhover
I caught this morning morning’s minion, king- dom of daylight’s dauphin, dapple-dawn-drawn Falcon, in his riding Of the rolling level underneath him steady air, and striding High there, how he rung upon the rein of a wimpling wing In his ecstasy! then off, off forth on swing, As a skate’s heel sweeps smooth on a bow-bend: the hurl and gliding Rebuffed the big wind. My heart in hiding Stirred for a bird,—the achieve of; the mastery of the thing!
Brute beauty and valour and act, oh, air, pride, plume, here Buckle! AND the fire that breaks from thee then, a billion Times told lovelier, more dangerous, O my chevalier!
No wonder of it: shéer plód makes plough down sillion Shine, and blue-bleak embers, ah my dear, Fall, gall themselves, and gash gold-vermillion.
Gerard Manley Hopkins (1844–89) |
