Hello! Sorry this blog has been pretty quiet lately, never fear lots of things are happening!

I just got some pictures from Swallow Gallery, in NYC. The store looks so beautiful doesn’t it? I want to buy everything in there! If you're in New York please stop by and have a look at my drawings, I've already sold four!
(Thanks to Margaux Lange for the pictures!)

in case you were wondering how i got the name for my website, Etsy shop, and this journal:
it is from a poem that i read years and years ago, and i had forgotten all the rest of the poem exept that one part, (i had even fogotten it was about a bird!), but recenly someone was kind enough to find this poem for me again.

The Windhover

I caught this morning morning’s minion, king-
dom of daylight’s dauphin, dapple-dawn-drawn Falcon, in his riding
Of the rolling level underneath him steady air, and striding
High there, how he rung upon the rein of a wimpling wing
In his ecstasy! then off, off forth on swing,
As a skate’s heel sweeps smooth on a bow-bend: the hurl and gliding
Rebuffed the big wind. My heart in hiding
Stirred for a bird,—the achieve of; the mastery of the thing!

Brute beauty and valour and act, oh, air, pride, plume, here
Buckle! AND the fire that breaks from thee then, a billion
Times told lovelier, more dangerous, O my chevalier!

No wonder of it: shéer plód makes plough down sillion
Shine, and blue-bleak embers, ah my dear,
Fall, gall themselves, and gash gold-vermillion.

Gerard Manley Hopkins (1844–89)

Jason Bredle and Leigh Stein used one of my images for the cover of their new collaborative poetry chapbook, A Pocket-Sized Map of My Heart.
I for one can't wait to get my copy, and you can get one for yourself, and more info, by going to knifemachine.com

its nice to see this image being used for something. its almost two years old now and the original is buried somewhere in my stacks of papers!
